Coming back from vacation it does seem like my car hates me a little bit for leaving. Honestly, the word “steering” had never been so threatening until this week. The old H-bridges we had were too week, transistors couldn’t fluctuate as fast as needed, to handle the motor and actuator so we got a couple new chips in order to do the job better. The new hardware was very standard but we honestly didn’t know what the VM input was and we assumed it was for voltage. OH WE WERE SO WRONG. The output actually allows voltage to pass through the chip. The chips themselves work on 12 volts but every thing else, arduino board, motion sensor, only needed 5-9. It completely fried both my board and sensor. The body count starts now I guess.
