This week I helped Mr. Bahn, or he helped me, on a special project for a friend of his. The idea is to utilize a magic wand you can purchase for your kids at the Great Wolf Lodge. The wand can take the kids on a scavenger hunt, let them unlock stuff and have a good time. When they come home the wand is well just about useless.
So that is what’s currently destroying me. The architecture of the thing. It’s pretty big and the dimensions and compensating for the thickness… Really it just comes down to the fact that I’ve never really done something like this before so it’s proving to be quite difficult. the plan is just to ‘build’ a drawing piece by piece to help me make sense of the whole thing.
For the gyroscope, most of the problems have been fixed. This was done by finding a library. The first time Wyatt and I worked on this project, we could not find any libraries. So, we kind have tried to write our own which seemed to be impossible.

In this past week, I have been working with, and learning how to program, a gyroscope. This new technology that I have not yet used is posing to be a difficult task. The reason for this is because I have to teach myself a new set of commands for Arduino that attain to the gyroscope.
First off, I have not posted anything on the website over the last couple of weeks, so I will do my best to catch you up on everything that we have been doing with our robotic drum project to this point. Over the past two weeks, we have been mainly working on conversion of MIDI signal into a code that can be received by a linear actuator. The linear actuator will push a drumstick, making it strike the drum. The group that is working on the drums has perfected the design for one of the drumstick mounts, but seven more need to be made for a full drum set to be present. In this week of Bo-Ty’s CMoy pocket amp news, I am growing closer and closer to accomplishing my circuit. It is set up on my PC board, and my only time consuming project is to solder some of my rows together and I will have a working pocket amp.
Over the past week, if finished my soldering my circuit to the PC Board. The circuit was extremely complex, and it had many connections that needed to be made between the 3 microprocessors of the circuit. At this point, the circuit it is all but working, and it just needs a few more connections on the board that may need troubleshooting. I will post pictures of the completed circuit once it is complete. The schematic of the circuit is listed below.
This is going to be my next to last post besides the final report of my Electronic Color Organ.
The Color Organ triple deluxe was finished last week, It functions perfectly and has a headphone jack so you can listen to the music while you watch the lights blink.
So now all that’s left is writing the final report my week has been relatively slow. We’ve had the first two days of the week off and only had one full day and the end of the trimester is near. I feel something in my gut. I think it’s spite, dis-appointment, and the work of radio waves.
In summary my experience in this electronics class have been excellent I walk away with much more skill and knowledge thanks to the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained with practice.
That’s all I have to say I suppose.
